Day 11: 1950's Housewife
Wear a dress or a skirt? Easy. Done. I love skirts. In fact, I wore ONLY skirts and dresses for the entirety of last summer. My jeans got ruined on our trip to England last April, and I HATE jeans shopping. Since I couldn't wear jeans to work, it just wasn't worth the hassle. Finally in October, after two days of shopping with a really honest friend, I finally had a pair that I liked. Yay, I had jeans again!
The next day I found out I was pregnant.
I feel like this dress has a 1950's housewife feel to it, and I love it! Those ladies sure knew how to dress. I was hoping the black belt would help make it a little more modern - what do you think?
Also, look! Belting! Color blocking! Belt-as-headband! Man, I'm learning so much from this challenge.

I love it! The belt head band is super fun! And as always, I love your zipper shoes :)
ReplyDeleteI love these colors and your retro style today! The pop of yellow against the coral is really bright and cute!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about learning so much from this challenge. I think we've all been stretched in a good way to rethink our clothing possibilities. It's sure been a fun and eye-opening experience for me.
ADORABLE! That's all I have to say about that. :)

Love love love the bright colors! Yellow is easily my favorite, and that shade of pink is stunning!
ReplyDeleteI also have jean shopping issues. :) Recently I went through all my pairs of jeans and I owned 9 pairs of the same exact jeans that I'd acquired over the years! (My parents always buy me jeans for my birthday because I never shop for them myself). It used to be much worse for me when the low-rise jeans were the trend. I hate low-rise!
What a great dress! I never would have thought of pairing it with yellow--it looks so good!
ReplyDeleteI love the bright colors. Very cute retro look. Perfect for vacuuming. :-)
