Day 15: Modern Day Princess
I used to put necklaces on my hair like this when I was a little girl and pretend to be a medieval princess. After a few History of Britain classes, I know better - I'd rather be a strong, elegant, hardworking woman now than bleed myself to look pale, and then die really young of gum disease.
I still like the look, though. And I don't mind a little waiting-on-hand-and-foot.
This outfit is another example of what I've learned from this challenge! I chose the green dress because I wanted to evoke "princess" without being too precious. When I looked at it, I thought "This needs another texture..." I NEVER would have thought to put this lacy shirt under this dress before now.
I'm so excited to see what people come up with today! I'm always looking for new hairstyles. I tend to get into a half-back rut.

I've thought from the first time I read your blog that you have *gorgeous* hair!! This is a fun, unique way to wear it. I say everyday should be "feel like a princess" day! You look absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! I almost wish you'd gone all out and put on a medieval-inspired gown (almost) but the outfit is a fun, modern interpretation of the look as well.

I want that shirt... and that dress... AND YOUR HAIR!
ReplyDeleteYou do have really beautiful hair. The princess look is lovely since it draws attention to it. Pretty soon I think the necklaces will be irresistable to baby hands, though. :)
ReplyDeleteI know this just sounds like I'm a giant copycat, but I'm going to say it anyway. You have beautiful hair! And I want it! Also, you look divine. I love this interpretation.
ReplyDeleteI used to wear necklaces in my hair too! :) I love that you made a gorgeous "grown-up" version! :) The necklace you used is wonderful, too. :)
