Day 6: The Invention of the Slarf
Today I'm wearing a baby sling as a scarf. A sling scarf. Scling? No, I think slarf. At least, when the baby isn't using it!
I first got the plum and mustard inspiration from Complex Cardigans, a fellow 21DCer. The color combo keeps popping up! And I can see why. I wouldn't hesitate to wear this again! It's also my first remix of my vest - over a long sleeve t-shirt.
I had a totally different outfit planned for today, but I think I'll save that for another day. This is too fun! And the ease of it is perfect for my Saturday. I'm headed to the Farmer's Market with Heidi and didn't want to bring the whole stroller. I LOVE my slings (I have two like this, and a Moby wrap). I'd much rather just carry Jesse than a whole heavy carseat!
Jesse's two month appointment went great yesterday. He's gaining weight nicely and his head is still enormous. He was pretty mad about the shots, though, especially because he's already feeling crummy with a little cold. Poor kid!
Purple sling scarf (slarf?): Gift from my aunt, from Seven Slings
Black vest: Gift from my mom (remix one!)
Mustard shirt: Macy's
Jeans: Motherhood
Plum shoes: Gift from Jon and my wedding shoes
Black stud earrings: Forever 21
Purple Bracelet: Came with the sling

that is such a great idea, especially for when your baby can no longer fit in the sling! i love the colors, too.
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome!

super creative! Love it and it looks great!
ReplyDeleteThat sling is beautiful! It makes a great scarf. How cool that it came with a bracelet, too. I'm pinning this--hopefully I will need a baby sling one of these days.
ReplyDeleteWhen you need one, Sarah, let me know. The website usually has coupons for a free sling. You still have to pay the shipping, but it's still cheaper than paying for the whole thing.
